Since 2011, students in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan have traveled to Chicago during their Spring Break to work with students in Chicago Public Schools. We have worked to introduce engineering to high school students, model successful college students, and to represent the University of Michigan as a university interested in having them apply.
With a program advisor from the College of Engineering’s Office of Student Affairs, we’ve been able travel to Chicago to work with students from the following schools:
Whitney Young Magnet High School
Northside College Preparatory High School
Walter Payton College Preparatory High School
Lindblom Math and Science Academy
Project SYNCERE at Dunne Technology Academy
