The timeline for the trip is the majority of spring break. For the upcoming year (2020), the dates include March 1 – March 6. 

What will we be doing?

Here is a sample outline for the ASB Chicago trip:

Morning: Group meeting, travel to schools
Afternoon: Work on a project with students in the school before lunch, participate in student panels or school organization meetings
Evening: Dinner, re-group meeting and planning for next day, evening activities (networking with Alumni, sightseeing, etc.)

What schools will we be visiting?

We will be returning to some of the schools listed on the home page. The teachers who worked with us in previous years are excited to have us back! In addition to those schools, we are reaching out to other schools as well.

How will we be getting there?

The team will be traveling in University Sponsored Vans. The vans will be driven by members of our Leadership team, who will be pre-approved by the University of Michigan.

Where will we stay?

Each year the hotel in which we stay varies, but in previous years we have stayed in the South Loop Hotel and La Quinta Inn & Suites Chicago – Lake Shore.

How much will this trip cost per student?

The cost of lodging and transportation is covered for each student. In addition, the student will be provided one paid dinner Sunday night through Wednesday night. Team members will be responsible for purchasing all other meals. Upon arrival in Chicago, the team will go to a supermarket to purchase food and other materials necessary for the remainder of the trip.
